Coarse Bubble Diffusers — for Mixing, Grit & Equalisation Tanks
Coarse bubble disc diffusers for duties where fine bubbles would clog: grit chambers, equalisation tanks, sludge holding and mixing. ABS body with EPDM disc, in 150 mm and 260 mm sizes. Send us your tank duty and air flow — we size quantity and layout.

Coarse bubble diffusers trade oxygen-transfer finesse for robustness: large openings pass air freely, keep solids in suspension and shrug off the scaling and clogging that kill fine-bubble membranes in raw wastewater. Use them where mixing matters more than oxygen efficiency — grit and grease chambers, equalisation tanks, sludge storage and aerobic digesters — and anywhere the air must keep running with minimal maintenance.

Coarse or fine bubble?
If the tank’s job is biological treatment, fine bubbles transfer far more oxygen per unit of air — see our fine bubble disc diffusers and tube diffusers. If the job is mixing, keeping solids moving, or aerating raw, gritty water, coarse bubbles are the reliable choice and need almost no upkeep. Many plants use both, in different tanks.
What to send for a quotation
(1) tank size and water depth, (2) the tank’s duty (grit, equalisation, sludge holding, mixing), (3) available blower air flow and pressure. We return the size, quantity and spacing with a quotation.
Not sure which bubble size your tank needs? Send the tank’s duty and water data through our contact page and we will recommend honestly — including when fine bubble is the better buy.
